The story
———— Our client knows what he likes and had seen the MCT S110 Evo advertised, but knew little about the brand’s availability in the UK. Convopiece had UK exclusivity so ensured his specific needs could be met.
At the time, MCT had just been acquired by a holding company, so, understandably, our client had questions about the longevity of the brand and support long term. In response, we arranged a meeting with the CEO and prospective client to resolve any concerns directly, and we presented the two models the client had seen advertised.
The design was perfect but the titanium felt less substantial than the platinum and gold of the Hublot and IWC watches the client wore daily. Although the S110 Evo was a limited edition of just 25 pieces, we decided creating a unique timepiece was the answer. The multi-part case and complex buckle were remade in white gold especially for our client. The result was a birthday gift unlike any other that continues to spark conversations.
About the brand
———— We all lead our own highly individual lives but have one big thing in common – the need to keep track of time. But, if each of our lives is different then shouldn’t our watches be as well?
That idea is the wellspring of the brand MCT – Manufacture Contemporaine Du Temps. Founded in 2007 by Denis Giguet, who had enjoyed a career that encompassed Rolex and the Harry Winston watchmaking division, MCT’s watches define extraordinary craftsmanship and technology combined with a desire to experiment.
The S-110 Evo Vant Black is one such example. Absorbing 99.96 per cent of light that hits it, the S-110 is known as the blackest watch on earth using the manmade material Vantablack, that was originally developed by scientists to use in aeronautics and space applications.
MCT’s innovation and contemporary bold designs are brought to life by a single watchmaker, ensuring the highest level of quality and attention to detail. The distinctive case shape, lug details and unique ‘triangular prism’ hour design remains a conversation piece amongst watch connoisseurs worldwide.
