The inspiration
This watch started life as a unique piece for a curious watch collector. He desired a watch with a truly distinctive design, mechanical innovation and the ability to be worn with both smart and casual attire. The Armin Strom Gravity Equal Force had the right characteristics but we saw an opportunity to evoke a more elegant feel in the tone and details. Denver- based retailer Oster Watches gave birth to the idea of Kari Voutilainen creating a guilloche sub-dial, but Convopiece Creative Director Adrian Aldred had a completely different vision.
The watch
The highly acclaimed Gravity Equal Force is part of the Armin Strom System 78 collection. Designed to inspire style, value, and horological innovations. The complication lies in the barrel, by combining a stop-work declutch mechanism to an automatic winding movement ensures consistent ‘Equal Force’ power delivery to the ASB19 caliber.
Finnish watchmaker and manufacturer, Kari Voutilainen is renowned for creating some of the most beautiful guilloche dials in the world. Kari developed our 12-sector guilloche wave dial pattern to have a distinctive yet elegant feel.
A colour combination normally reserved for elegant dress watches, navy blue and rose gold has a sophisticated, enduring appeal. By fusing this pallet to the contemporary design of the Gravity Equal Force, you will enjoy a horological statement of modern luxury to be admired.
